ACL Reconstructions The Importance of Correct Rehab
I had my ACL Reconstruction done at Ghaziabad in June 2011. I was told by my local Orthopaedic Surgeon that a Specialist from Delhi would come and perform the surgery. After the surgery, I was in hospital for 2 days and put in a brace with my knee straight (as per guidance of the local doctor) for 2 weeks. This was very uncomfortable. I traced Dr Misra through the internet to Clinic to confront him with what I thought was a wrongly done surgery by him! To my utter surprise, he made me bend my knee the very same evening and started me on an aggressive rehabilitation regime under the expert guidance of Dr Prateek Gupta. Two weeks later my knee felt almost normal! I saw other patients moving their knees the very next day after surgery at Clinic. From my experience, I would suggest that such specialist procedures should best be done under direct guidance of able teams such as the one at , even if it means a bit of logistical inconvenience and expense. Their understanding and experience with the Knee & Shoulder mechanics and rehabilitation is very advanced. The only thing - they are not Media Savvy!

ACL Reconstructions - A Painless, Stitchless Experience
I was walking with a torn ACL for approximately 3 years. Several surgeons had dissuaded me from the operation, explaining that my knee would never be normal again despite surgery. On the advice of a Senior local Orthopaedician, I gathered the courage and underwent surgery under Dr Amit Misra’s care. As I could not afford Apollo, he was very kind to operate me at a good local hospital in Noida. I must emphasise that he maintained very high standards of care – the surgery was smoothly conducted, no pain & I was discharged (walking with support) within 24 hours. Dr Prateek took over my care the very next day. I stayed at Manav Ashray, a local residential facility for patients from outside Noida – I was normal within 2 weeks. This is a set of highly professional, caring and experienced doctors who infuse a lot of confidence.

ACL Reconstruction - Back to Professional Weightlifting, National Power Weightlifting Champion, 2012
I injured my knee towards the end of my 2011 Powerlifting calendar. Doctors said it was a torn ligament. Though I was advised surgery, I was afraid and thus tried carrying on for the next 3 months. My performance dipped and I was getting depressed. I met Dr Misra at Clinic. It was a very reassuring meet which instilled confidence of the possibility of returning to my competitive sport after surgery. I strictly adhered to the rehabilitation protocol set out by, post surgery. I returned to sport after approximately 10 weeks. Within 3 months of returning I picked up the National Gold Medal in Power Lifting.
It was an unbelievable comeback - a BIG thank you to Dr Misra, the Team and my family who supported me throughout these tough times. I remain in touch with Dr Prateek & Dr Misra for all health related issues!

Multiple Ligament Reconstructions - Happily Married in time!
I was travelling in Jodhpur and met with a road traffic accident wherein I dislocated my knee. After first aid and plaster at a local hospital, I was flown by my office personnel to Delhi. My mentor and supervisor (Rajshree) contacted Dr Misra at Noida. I was impressed by the detail which he went through explaining the injury on a knee model, the arthroscopic treatment and the post operative rehabilitation regime. My main worry was that I was scheduled to get married in 6 weeks! I stayed for a day at Apollo Hospital, Noida and thereafter for three weeks at Manav Ashray, a centre for outstation patients in Noida. At Manav Ashray, Dr Prateek (from Clinic) put me through a structured rehabilitation regime, which involved 30-45 minute sessions daily. I regained almost complete knee movements in 6 weeks and was ready for my marriage! If one were to see photographs of my knee (completely dislocated) at the time of the accident (whilst I was lying on the road), this could be regarded as nothing short of a miracle.

Shoulder Pain & Weakness - Fed up of Medicines and Physiotherapy,
I suffered from unrelenting pain in my right shoulder for approximately six months. Every doctor or physiotherapist that I would visit would simply term it as a Frozen Shoulder and either prescribe me medicines, exercises or sometimes both. I had almost given up until I visited an Orthopaedic Surgeon through a good friend. All credit to this surgeon – he was honest with me and told me to meet Dr Misra at who specialises in Keyhole Shoulder Surgery. Past experiences had made me depressed, anxious and very suspicious of new doctors. It took me two visits to Clinic to get convinced of undergoing a Rotator Cuff Repair. I would give full marks to Dr Misra & his team in the way I was treated at hospital and thereafter during Physical Therapy Regimes. He explains things very well and in detail. I thus knew what to expect at every stage. I am now pain free and have almost normal movement – Bless Him!

Bowling in Cricket became a huge problem
I use to suffer from a click and pain in my bowling arm on throwing the ball. This problem progressed to a point that I stopped going for my club cricket matches. I learnt of Dr Misra and travelled overnight to meet him. After a detailed explanation, I underwent a shoulder arthroscopy the very next morning and was in the train, back home, the same night! There were just three small holes which never needed stitches – I was back to playing in 2 months. Remarkable advancements indeed!
